Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your participation in Advance Health, Ireland's first student-led HealthTech & MedTech Innovation Ideathon. Please read them carefully before registering. By participating, you agree to be bound by all terms outlined below.
Acceptance of Terms
By registering for or participating in Advance Health, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not participate in the event. These terms apply to all participants, team members, mentors, judges, and guests.
Eligibility
Advance Health is open to students currently enrolled at any accredited Irish higher education institution. Participation is free of charge. Participants must be at least 18 years of age or have written consent from a parent or guardian. Advance Health reserves the right to verify eligibility and to refuse or revoke participation at its discretion.
Code of Conduct
All participants are expected to conduct themselves in a professional, respectful, and inclusive manner throughout the event. Advance Health has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, or intimidation of any kind based on gender, race, ethnicity, religion, age, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic. Violations may result in immediate removal from the event without refund of any materials provided.
Intellectual Property
Participants retain full intellectual property rights over any work, ideas, code, designs, or innovations created during the event. Advance Health makes no claim to ownership of participant projects. However, by submitting a project for judging, you grant Advance Health a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to describe, display, and reference your project for event promotion, impact reporting, and press purposes.
Project Submissions
Projects submitted for judging must be created substantially during the event period. Pre-existing code or designs may be incorporated only as a foundation, and this must be clearly disclosed to judges. Participants are responsible for ensuring that their submissions do not infringe upon third-party intellectual property rights, contain misleading claims, or violate applicable laws and regulations.
Prizes and Awards
Any prizes, awards, or recognition offered are at the sole discretion of Advance Health and its judges. Judging decisions are final. Advance Health reserves the right to modify, withhold, or redistribute prizes if it determines that a winning submission violated these terms, contained misleading information, or was produced in a manner inconsistent with the spirit of the event.
Health, Safety and Liability
Participants attend Advance Health at their own risk. Advance Health and its organisers, sponsors, and partners accept no liability for personal injury, loss, or damage to personal property during the event. Participants are responsible for their own health and safety. In the event of a medical emergency, please contact event staff immediately. Emergency exits and assembly points will be communicated at the start of each session.
Media and Photography
By participating in Advance Health, you consent to being photographed or filmed during the event. These materials may be used in promotional content, social media posts, press releases, and future event marketing. If you wish to opt out, please notify an organiser at the beginning of the event.
Cancellation and Changes
Advance Health reserves the right to modify, postpone, or cancel the event due to unforeseen circumstances including but not limited to public health directives, venue issues, or force majeure events. In such cases, we will communicate changes as promptly as possible and make reasonable accommodations where feasible.
Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ireland. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
